The President and Mrs. Reagan, while watching the Jerry Lewis telethon for muscular dystrophy Sunday evening, telephoned a pledge to help fight the disease. President Reagan tried to call Jerry Lewis about 8:00 last night in Las Vegas, but Mr. Lewis was on stage performing at the time of the call. The President then called the pledge line in Los Angeles to make his donation. Mr. Lewis called the President shortly after 9:00 p.m. to thank him and to discuss the progress of the telethon. President Reagan has made pledges during the Jerry Lewis telethon in previous years. Jerry Lewis related much of the telephone conversation during his broadcast later Sunday evening.

NOTICE TO THE PRESS
November 24, 1983
10:00 am PST

Shortly after arriving at Rancho del Cielo yesterday, the President surveyed the ranch property in a jeep. After the survey, he returned to the residence and had dinner with Mrs. Reagan.

This morning, the President and Mrs. Reagan had breakfast together shortly after 8:00 am PST.
Mrs. Reagan was called at 8:15 am PST today by Dr. Filippo Balboni Director of Pediatric Cardiology, St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, New York. Dr. Balboni informed Mrs. Reagan that Lee Kil Woo, age 4, was in the recovery room following surgery today and is doing fine. Mrs. Reagan told her Press Secretary, Sheila Tate, "My little boy is fine." Mrs. Reagan told Dr. Balboni, "You have given me Thanksgiving and Christmas all rolled into one." Dr. Balboni told Mrs. Reagan that the staff at St. Francis Hospital was "walking on air today." Further information is available from Sheila Tate, who can be reached through the White House switchboard in Washington.

Because the weather at the Ranch is overcast, cold and rainy, the President and Mrs. Reagan will not go horseback riding today. The President will spend the morning on routine paperwork.
